The National Mission, which has been launched under the aegis of the centrally sponsored scheme of Samagra Shiksha, will focus on providing access to and retaining children in foundational Nipun Bharat years of schooling, teacher capacity building, development of high-quality and diversified Student and Teacher Resources / Learning Materials, and tracking the progress of each child in achieving learning outcomes.
The Department of School Education and Nipun Bharat Literacy, Ministry of Education ( MOE ) will be the implementing agency at the national level and will be headed by a Mission Director. Students covered. The mission will focus on children aged 3 to 9 years, including preschool to Grade 3. The children who are in Nipun Bharat Class 4 and 5 and have not attained the foundational skills will be provided individual teacher guidance and support, peer support, and age-appropriate and supplementary graded learning materials to acquire the necessary competencies,
Nipun Bharat. The goals and objectives of the mission are required to be achieved by all Govt Govt. Aided and Private Schools so that universal acquisition of FLN skills can be completed by 2026-27. The critical components in Foundational Language and Literacy are Oral Language: Development Includes improved listening comprehension: oral vocabulary, and extended conversation skills The experiences in oral language are essential to Nipun Bharat for developing skills in reading and writing.

Children who participate in quality early childhood education programs demonstrate considerable gains in social, educational, and intellectual spheres, distinctively different from those who do not participate in ECCE programs. Strong foundations in the early years have a lasting impact on children's development. They are considered critical in improving the enrolment and participation of children in formal schooling. Research shows that good quality early learning/early childhood education programs help to reduce the chances of dropout and repetition and improve outcomes at all levels of Education.
Implementation Of NIPUN Bharat
To implement NIPUN Bharat in its schools, CBSE, in association with Central Square Foundation, has started Professional Development Course on FLN for capacity building of teachers.
What is Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)?
FLN refers to children's ability to read meaningfully and solve fundamental math problems by the end of Class 3.

As part of implementing the NEP-2020 Ministry of Education, Govt. from India has launched the NIPUN Bharat Mission for FLN. FLN aims to ensure that children learn joyfully through play, stories, rhymes, activities, local arts, crafts, and music and develop solid foundations for lifelong learning.
FLN Mission Goal - Vision
1. This general objective includes the development of competencies related to the physical, socio-emotional, and psychological health and well-being of children for life. This goal continues to provide expertise for health and wellness, social-emotional development, health, nutrition, hygienic practices, and safety.
2. This goal is to allow children to communicate orally with ease and proficiency in the preschool or school language, become aware of print, understand or make a meaningful connection to reading and writing in familiar contexts, develop an interest in books, and learn to read is essential.
3. This goal enables children to form concepts related to the world through direct experience and interactions with the physical, social, and natural environment through language, mathematical thinking, and environmental awareness.
